Digicam Wanderer is a visual exploration of my world through the lens of cheap and obsolete digicams. My aim in using these old cameras is to prove that a limitation in equipment is not a limitation on artistic self-expression.
In early 2022 I set up Supercharged Photography, a home and outlet for my professional automotive photography. After building the website, work began on client shoots and regular blog posts about my automotive adventures and photoshoots.
35mm Retro Photo is my long running blog dedicated to the wonderful world of film photography. The blog features my adventures captured on an ever expanding collection of analogue cameras, as well as camera reviews, and my general musings about the world.
My interest in film photography has led me to contribute to 35mmc on a couple of occasions. If you have an interest in film photography or simply wish to read more of my work, you can find my 35mmc articles here.
The YouTube channel Mech it Better is a joint project with my good buddy Ciarán, and features our ongoing battle to fix old motorbikes, broken cars, and anything else with an engine. We’ve had amazing feedback for the channel and it’s seen us published online and in print.
Unit 44 is my latest venture, this time in to the world of commercial and product photography. From my home base in Yorkshire I’ll be turning out high quality photography for clients across the UK.
Just as soon as I’ve built the website…
Over the course of 2020/21 the Mech it Better chaps created a series of 10 short videos for South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership. The videos were based around beginner motorcycle maintenance and included jobs such as checking brakes, changing bulbs etc. You can see those videos here.
I have written and photographed for On Two Wheels magazine as a contributing journalist on multiple occasions, and the articles have featured in both printed and digital formats. The articles are primarily based around maintaining and touring on small motorcycles. You can download a selection of these articles here
In addition to my blogging over at 35mm Retro Photo, I’ve taken to creating mini photo-zines featuring my film photography. The zines are self published, printed at home, folded and glued by hand, and mailed with love to film photography fans as far afield as Canada and the US.
